During the last fortnight exceptionally fine weather lias been experienced in this district, quite spring like, and there is quite a noticeable spring on young pastures that are not stocked. "Winter sowing is about completed, and farmers are now taking the opportunity ®f getting their land ready for spring sowing while it is dry. Last Friday evening the ladies of the Baptist Church gave a very successful social in the Sunday school, Mrs C. H. Adams being in the chair. The evening was spent in games, songs, and recitations; those contributing items being songs,by Misses Geddings, M» Rudd, Mrs C. H. Adams, and Mrs Cule gave a Welsli song. Misses P. Shipley, A. Lamb and M. Church gave recitations. Supper was handed round, and a very pleasant evening was spent. The cricket club is holding a concert and dance on July 31, and a. great success is anticipated.
