A SUFFRAOETTE ARRESTED.

A bomb, with burning fuse attached, was discovered while evensong was in progress at St. John's, Westminster. A suffragette, whilst quitting the building, was arrested.

The bomb consisted of a canister nine inches high, which contained gunpowder and metal filings. It was timed to explode in an hour. The prisoner is a militant, who has been closely watched during the past few Sundays. POSTBAG- EXPLODES. £ RAILWAY OUTRAGES. Suffragettes'burned the railway station at Blaby, in Leicestershire. A post-bag exploded on a BlackpoolManchester train, and ignited six other bags, also a portion of' the van. 4 The guard was badly burned in extinguishing the flamed.

The outrage is attributed to suffragettes.

Miss Adela Paukhurst, a suffragette, arranged to address the lady students of theTJnive-rsity. A wag placed a notice on the blackboard in the common room that the whole University was invited to attend. When the male students trooped up and were refused admittance, they expressed disappointment by opening windows and -throwing crackers into the lecture room, also by making loud vocal demonstrations and throwing stones on the roof.

Eventually Miss Paukhurst's overtures , restored peace.

Annie Bell, the perpetrator of the St. John's outrage, has been released under the '' Cat and Mouse Act.'' She told the Court that she intended to blow up %no church.
