COLLECTORS BARRED.

ARMENIAN CHURCH EMISSARIES.

REFUSED LANDING IN AUSTRALIA.

By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright, (Received July 13/11.10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, July 13.

The Secretary of External Affairs, referring to the Rev. Stephen George and Deacon Aluaheuu Nissen, of the ancient Nestoriah Church, who were detained at Port Darwin, said they were collecting for Armenian Churches. Previous arrivals on a similar mission did not carry credentials which could be recognised by the Government, and it had been decided to restrict the landing of any more. They could tranship for New Zealand, provided they gave an undertaking not to collect funds in Australia.
