PLYING OVER THE FORTS.

Mr Field, editor of a San Francisco magazine; Mr Fowler, an aviator, and two others arrested upon a charge of disclosing .military secrets. Mr Fowler aeroplaned over the Fanama Canal forts, and wrote an article pointing out the inadequacy of the defences against an air attack. Mr Field published the article, and the Department of War ordered the arrests.
It is the first prosecution of its kind ever heard of.
