AMERICAN AIRMAN WINS.

An air race, London to Paris and back, for £IOOO, was won by Brock, an American, who did the distance of 508 miles in 423 minutes.

Seven started, of whom Lord Carbery, Garros, and Renaux, the last with a lady passenger, reached Paris. Lord Carbery, in returning, fell in mid-channel, and a steamer picked him up. A destroyer salved the aeroplane.

An aviator named Boeham, flying at Johannisthal, remained in the air for 24 hours, which is a record. He took up 600 litres of benzine.
