Captain Bartlett is awaiting the arrival of a United States revenue cutter to proceed to the rescue of the shipwrecked StePfanssoii expedition. The partv is marooned on Wrangell Island, lie states that he knows nothing of the reported loss of eight men. Captain Bartlett adds that the men who are left on Wrangell Island are secure. Provisions would have been saved when the Karluck was wrecked, and he believes that there is no other peril.
