The body was removed inorgue and was identified as that of IV. Atkinson, a married man, employed as a fitter, residing in ;JB9 Durham' StreJet. The unfortunate man had contemplated suicide, judging from two uncompleted letters found in his possession. . Both x were written ,in pencil in almost undecipherable ' writing. The first was dated July 2, and. vski:-^ * Dear. Sister and Brother anci Family.—This is to let you know that T am. still alive. Although the Court has sentenced, me to death I must — - The.second missive ran:—Dear Sister, Brother, and Family: This is the last time you will hear from me as it is no use trying to pull myself together, for they will not leave me alone.
