BEATH'S ANNUAL BALL.

A GREAT SUCCESS. The Alexandra Hall was truly a scene of merriment and gaiety last night, when the staff of Messrs Beath and Co., Ltd., held their annual ball. There was an. attendance of considerably over 200 people, including members of the staff and their friends, and dancing commenced soon after 8 o 'clock, to inspiriting music supplied by Wells's Band. Mr W. E. Scott had charge of the ceremonies, and discharged his duties in a courteous, and capable manner. Between dances, cosy sitting-out places were provided in the sitting room, where cheerful fires burned and glowed, and in the lounge. Light refreshments were available all the evening, supper being served from about ten to twelve. Dancing was continued with unabated enjoyment until the tiny hours of this morning. The committee having the arrangements in hand included Misses Baker, Harkness, C. Munro, Messrs M'Donald, C. Milne, Scott, with Miss C. Stone and Mr C. A. Copeland as hon. secretaries, and they are certainly to be congratulated on the success of their ball. Amongst those present were^— Mrs C. M.
