JEWELLER ASSAULTED.
YOUNG MAN IN TROUBLE. Press Association. NAPIER, June 12. Arnold Ashworth, a young man, was before the Court to-day on a charge of assaulting W. Brooks with intent to commit a crime.
Accused had selected some jewellery at-Mr Brooks's shop, and the latter was wrapping up the articles, when the accused hit him a violent blow with a stone knotted in a handkerchief. Mr Brooks with the man and called for assistance, Ashworth being taken into custody. He was remanded for a week.
