SESSION AT TIMARU. Press Association. TIMARU, June 9. At the Supreme Court Mr Justice Sim said there were only two cases, one of carnal knowledge and one of murder. He dealt at some length with the Geraldine murder, but said the Grand Jury would have no difficulty. Charles Taipana, a Maori, was up for sentence on a charge of forging a post office order and the theft of £1 18/6, the property of his brother. He was ordered to pay £lO or to be detained for three months in default. THE NAPIER SITTINGS. NAPIER, June 9. The Supreme Court opened to-day with a very light criminal calendar. Mr Justice Hosking was welcomed by members of the Bar. Roy King pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of a motor and discharging a firearm at Fred Lowe. Sentence was deferred. Edward Geo. Roberts is now being tried on a charge of manslaughter, in causing the death of John Adams at Waipawa.
