What is perilously near an impasse has been reached if there is any truth in the reports from Tokio that, on account of the domestic situation, the Japanese Government is determined to find in the Californian land law an excuse to press for equal treatment of itti subjects by nations of the West. American opinion is adamant against Asiatic admixture.
