The Lyttelton Borough Council wrote stating, that it had adopted a resolution confirming the appointment of the Mayor of Sumner as the representative *of the combined district-oji thb Christchurch Domain received."' ?

The secretary of the Municipal Association of New Zealand forwarded a circular intimating' that the biennial conference* be held on Tuesday, July 14, at 10 a.m., in the Council Chambers, Town Hall, Wellington, and asking for any remits desired to be brought before the conference. They also asked fot the name of the delegate appointed by the borough. ' a i

The letter was and the Hon. John- Barr, M.L.C.; was appointed the council's delegate to. the association. The Sumner Beautifying Association wrote asking for an interview with the council to ask permission. to plant tr66s along the roadside opposite the Deaf and Dumb Institute, and also to ask if they could use Day's section for a nursery and'the shed for storing tools, etc. They also pointed out -that there were ? some . .:'j>n Scarborough Park which cquidbe; replace 3, and that the fence, was not. ;quite 'yabbit-proof and might be inspected' and made good with advantage. ; ' ! The Waimairi County. Council wrote forwarding a copy of a letter which it had sent to the Christchurch Domain Board, ..protesting against the levy for the upkeep of the Domain.—The letter was received. . •
