THE DUNEDIN TOURNAMENT. The Christchurch Physical Culture team which has entered for the big tug-of-war tourney now in progress in Dunedin, left f.oj; r Dunedin .by, > the first I express this morning. It consists of A. Thorpe, J. Fingland, E. .Borough, L. Atkinson, W.. Johnstone, J. Fry, C. Price, T. Heiinessy (captain), and M. Ilogan (emergency). This evening the team will pull against the Inch Valley team in the second round of the competition. Press Association. DUNEDIN, May 31. The All-comers' Tug-of-war Championship commenced on Saturday night in the presence of a large attendance. Results: — A SECTION. Otakau Maoris beat Stevenson and" Cook No. 1, after a dead heat. Dunedin Police beat Taieri. B SECTION.
Nightcaps beat Dunedin Waterside Work ers No. 1.
Port Chalmers Citizens beat Speight and Co. No. 2. Auckland Police beat Stevenson and Cook No. 2. Belian's West Coast team beat Telegraph Linesmen No. 2. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. The challenge issued by the West Coast tug of war team to pull any country team for £SO a-side has been accepted by the Christchurcii physical'ctilture team and the pull will take place next week, probably on Wednesday at the skating rink.'
