(Before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.) Five first ' offending inebriates, were convicted and fined the customary 5/-, with the option of going to gaol for twenty-four hours. FEMALE OFFENDERS. , Mary Sheedy, for soliciting in High Street, was sentenced to a month's imprisonment. Carrie Corbett was convicted and order to come up for sentence when called upon, on condition tliat she remained in the Salvation, Army Home for three months. Myra Dphaldso'n,. an idle and disorderly person, and Elizabeth Farr.ell, on the same charge, were similarly dealt with, except that in their cases the period was increased to six months. Frances Curry, deemed to be a rogue and a vagabond, was also given into the care of the Army for six months. DRUNKENNESS. James Oliver was fined 20/- for drunkenness. CIVIL BUSINESS. Samuel Graham Hamra, a steward on the steamer Westmeath, appeared at the Lyttelton Magistrate's Court this morning for absenting himself from the vessel .laikt Saturday without leave. Captain Warren gave evidence in support of the charge, and Hamm was convicted;;fined two days' pay, and was ordered to be placed on the vessel the day before she sailed.

DRUNK, OBSCENE, AND RESISTED. John Corkin, alias Duffel, was charged with being drunk on Saturday, resisting Constable Thomas in the execution of his duty, and with using obscene language. The accused elected to be dealt with summarily, and pleaded guilty to all the charges.
