At the conclusion of the ordinary business at Saturday evening's meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League, Dr Tliacker referred to the work being done in connection with the open-air home for children fund, and he suggested that the league should assist the movement by giving a benefit match at the Show Ground. Messrs Gapes and Harvey spoke in support of the suggestion, and it was unanimously resolved to write to the committee offering to play a benefit match at the Show Ground at some future date.
