BOROUGH COUNCILS.
I SPREYDON. | The Mayor (Mr G. R." Whiting) presided over last night's "meeting .of the Spreydon Borough. Council, and there were also present Crs. ; Manhire, Rudd, Hayes, Winsor, Clark, Sykes, Hancock, and Woods. The Works Committee recommended that the City Council's offer to repair the South Crescent i^ad.should be accepted, and that the-byrlaw prohibiting wooden culverts .should be enforced.. The report was adopted with the exception of the clause dealing with the culverts. . A deputation waited on the council with regard to the erection of a gias lamp on the Lincoln Road, opposite St Martin's Church. The Mayor .promised that the matter should have consideration.
Another deputation, representing the "Spreydon Burgesses' Association, ed on the. council. ,It was .stated that certain lamps- in the borough had njpt. been satisfaction, f The,: Mayor .explained that'J;he ! lamps complained of were being called, in, and new ones were being obtained. These would be used until the electric light installation was working. Accounts amounting to £4B 18/10 (district fund account) and £130,6/: (loan account) were; passed for payment. \ v
