The Avon Rowing Club and Linwood Football Club met in a friendly card and billiards match in the latter 7 s rooms on Tuesday evening. The results were: Billiards, Linwood 554, Avon 503; Caixls, 40 each. At the conclusion of the games Mr F. D. Kesteven, president of the L.F.C., took charge of the proceedings, and after the usual speeches and toasts, a most enjoyable programme of music and songs was gone through. Messrs Chadwick, Campbell, Sharratt, Kind sky, Robinson and Norrie contributed items, and Mr C. Nathan acted as pianist.
