j Combeve, left Marseilles January 24. I SHIPPING NOTES. ! The Arapawa loads at Lyttelton on Friday [for Wellington. The Victoria. will load at Lyttelton on Tuesday for Wellington and East Coast ports. On May 14 the Shaw, Savill liner Cbrinthic leaves Lyttelton for Wellington* to complete Homeward loading. The New Zealand Shipping Company advise that the steamer Hollington, from St. John, via ports, is due at Lyttelton on Thursday. She has 385 tons of cargo to disi charge here, and then proceeds to Dunedin to complete. Mr T. Bowling, late of the Maheno, has joined the Moeraki as second officer in place of Mr J. A. Hughon, who has come ashore. Mr J. H. Miller, third officer of the Arahura, has signed off the vessel's articles. Mr C. Ball has been engaged on the Pateena as third engineer. The Union Company has decided to place an extra steamer in the cargo run between the Bluff and Auckland during the busiest months of the grain season. The Poherua will be placed in the service to assist the Wanaka, which at present visits Auckland about once a fortnight. The first trip of the Poherua will bo commenced next week, after the vessel has taken in produce at the Bluff for Auckland. She has a holding capacity of 15,000 sacks of cargo. The employment of the Poherua means that practically a weekly service will be maintained. While the Poherua maintains the service mentioned above, the Kamo will run coal between Greymouth and Wellington.'
