M'GOORTY AGAIN.

DAVE SMITH KNOCKED OUT.

[Dave Smith has shown improvement in his form against M'Goorty in this, his third, contest with the American. Iu each of their previous meetings, M'Goorty knocked out the New Zealander in a round. But Smith should do better against M 'Goorty, for on their records there is not such a difference between the merits of the two men as Smith's defeats indicate. In the past Smith has shown himself to be both a clever boxer and a fighter," while M'Goorty is practically a fighter, but against the latter Smith has shown a nervousness which was unknown in him before. "On paper," Smith should be able to beat M'Goorty on points, but their contests provide one of the many instances which show how unreliable boxing "form" ie. This meeting was billed by the Sydney Stadium management as one of an elimination series in connection with the middleweight championship of the world, but the conditions of the contest prevent it from having any bearing on the title, for the men were matched at list 61b, whereas the championship limit is list 41b.]
