CHOIR UNION.
The annual general meeting of the Christetiufch Methodist Choir "Union was held in the Durham StreetlSchoo 1 - room on Saturday evening, when there wan a good" attendance. The reports of the treasurer and the. secretary, which were adopted, showed the-union to be in a very "good financial position, with a roll oi 290 members. The £o'>lowing officers were elected:—-Presi-dent, ~Rev. S. Lawry; vice-presidents, Messrs H. Holland,' G. Scott, and J. C. Prudhoe; conductor, Mr E^JFirth; organist, Miss E. S. Smith; secretary, Mr W. J. Spratt; assistant secretary, Mr Younger; treasurer, Mr H. J. Down; librarian, Mr W. J. S&lkeldj auditor, Mr A. M. Owen; committee. Messrs W. Simpson, G. M, Owen, J. H. Jones, V. Peters, Q. Ray, J. Salkeld, and Longuet. It WHS decided' that a choral festival should be given in July or August, and : an oratorio work' in November or December, and that united practices should commence at an early date.
