HOCKEY.
SELWYN CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Selwyn Hockey Club, held last evening, it was reported that the club had had a highly successful year. The fourth'grade team had won its competition, .and the others all occupied prominent positions. The senior team won the Ashburton sub-Association's five a-side tournament. The balancesheet showed a credit of £4 11/-. Officers were elected as follow: —Patron, Mr H. G. Ell, M.P.; president, Mr C. D. Gibson; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Down, S. J. L. Hewitt, W. Bell, W. Johnston, W. Robson, H. Hearfield, and A. E. Snowball; club captain, Mr W. H. Down; secretary, Mr W. Hay; assistant secretary, Mr C. Forbes; treasurer, Mr Bert JDown; delegates to the Canterbury Hockey Association, Messrs W. Williamson and W. H. Down; executive committee, the officers, and Messrs M. O, Sinclair and T. Ellis; selection committee, Messrs W. H. Down, T. Ellis, and A. Turnpenny; auditors, Messrs J. L. Down and W. Bell.
