The trotter Lucid has covered a mile in 2min 25fsec —an Australasian record for a three-year-old filly. [This -cable must surely refer to the Australian record for a three-year-old filly. Only a few weeks ago one of that age and sex in Edith A won a two-mile race at Ashburton in 4.40, while on several occasions 2.25;} has been beaten on New Zealand courses.]
