GREAT PICTON TO DUNEDIN On Monday last a great test trip was undertaken with a Model H Hupmobile Standard Touring Car. The car left Picton at 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon, and after running continuously all that day and night, over hills and rivers, and passing several flocks of sheep, reached Dunedin in the record time of 17 HOURS 25 MINUTES. RECORDS were put up as follow:—? PICTON to OHRISTCHURCH .... ... CHRISTCHURCH to TIMARU .... OHRISTCHURCH to DUNEDIN ... PICTON to DUNEDIN .... ... 250 Miles in 8 Hours 45 Minutes 112 Miles in 3 Hours 15 Minutes 246 Miles in 8 Hours 40 Minutes 496 Miles in 17 Hours 25 Minutes Average Speed Over 28 MILES per Hour. The run from Hurunui to Hampden was made in total darkness. Considerable time was lost between Timaru and Oamaru through taking the wrong road. 1 Due regard for the safety of the travelling public was our first consideration, and in no instance was a risk taken in rounding corners or passing others. The Car went through all rivers and sand b eds without having to resort to horses cr other assistance. This creditable performance clearly demonstrates that for RELIABILITY, MARVELLOUS ACCELERATION and HILL-CLIMBING capabilities the stands out on its own. THEHUPP was fitted with Oversize m.-ribbed CONTINENTAL TYRES, and came through the trying ordeal with only one slight puncture on Kilmoy HilL Book your Order early, and become a satisfied Hupp owner.
