NEGHOES VERSUS WHITES. DEATHS ON EACH SIDE. BLOODHOUNDS FOLLOWING ':■'.'. BLACKS. ■/ . . - ■ (Eeceived February 24, 1.50 p.m.) NEW .YORK, February 23. A posse of sheriffs attempted to arrest thirty negro revellers at Tunica, Mississippi Co. The blacks opened fire, killing the deputy-sheriff, and volleys were exchanged. The white men were forced to retreat, being short of ammunition. / The negroes fled, and the posse then tracked them, killing five separately. Bloodhounds are following on the others' trail. The white men swear they will kill every negro participating.
