THE CHINESE FRACAS.

NO ARREST YET. The police have made no arrest yet in connection with the alleged assault on Gee Poy, the Chinaman who was cut on the head during a fracas in Madras Street. It is thought that the supposed assailant is being concealed by some of his compatriots. The police have searched all the Chinese gardens and other places where the missing man might be sheltered, but so far without any result. Gee Poy now says that he inflicted the wound on himself. His popularity among the Chinese community is a negligible quantity, and probably that accounts for the effective disappearance of the other man in the case.
