DOGGED BY ILL-FORTUNE.

A SENSATIONAL VOYAGE. '-* STEAMER ABLAZE. Press Association- • AUCKLAND, February 14. The German steamer Bergermeister Hachmau, which arrived to-day, on the eve of departure from New York for Auckland in October last, had an outbreak of fire in No. 2 hatch, containing 32,000 cases of inflammable oils. ' The vessel was a mass of flames forward. Fire floats surrounded her, and pumped so much water into her that the steamer sank, and was eight days submerged.
