SRTAIGHTENING THE TANGLE. •Press Association. -• •AUCKLAND, February 14. The Hon. W. H. Herries, in a speech at Whakatane, referred to the native lands in the Bay of Plenty. He said that the individual interests of large blocks in the- Urawera Country had been purchased and the titles been ascertained, and before he could open up land he had to straighten out the tangle bequeathed by his predecessors in office. The Government intended to prosecute the settlement of the Urowera land actively, as soon as the titles ai\; legally, defined. •
