COMPASS WAS WRONG.
NANTUCKET-MONROE COLLISION. By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright. NEW YORK, February 11. Captain Johnson admitted that at the time of the collision he was navigating the Monroe with a compass which deviated two degrees from the standard compass. [Captain Johnson, of the steamer Nantucket, which collided with and sank the Monroe, is at present on trial on a charge of negligent navigation.]
