Pearson, W; W. ■ Crawshaw, J. Cairns, W. P. Daly and ■ M. Dixon appointed a sub-commit-W tee to.make arrangements for holding I "an athletic meeting at an early date. I vThe .Kaiapoi Cycling Club will hold an axemen's, cycling and athletic carnival in the Kaiapoi Park s on Easter J&onday. The programme which has been drawn up is one of the best that this progressive club has issued yet. There will-be three chopping contests.' The.athletic events will be 100 yds, 150 yds, 220 yds, 880 yds, and one mile flat, and high jump. Five.cycle racesare included in the programme: novice handicap,, half-mile dash handicap, one mile Easter handicap, Easter wheel raee and a mile pursuit race for teams of two men each. A wrestling competition for men under list'in weight and several other competitions figure on the programme. Entries will close on March 30, with the secretary, Mr J. A.
