ADDINGTON WORKSHOPS PICNIC.
Postponed through rain from the week before, the Addington workshops employees' picnic was held at Hagley Park on Saturday, and a very pleasant day was spent. A number of racing and other events were got off, and. proceedings were enlivened by music by the Canterbury Eegimental Band. The principal events resulted: — Apprentices' Handicap, 100 yds.—C.
