JNorthcote Cup,: the. second race to windward' and tract, twice round, was won by the yacht Ruwhiti, which therefore tains the trophy for New South Wales. The weather was troublesome, calms being s interspersed with choppy winds, andistrong gusts of: rain. The race-was' throughout. The Victorians showed" fine seamanship and "both 'boats at times apparently helct wanning chances. The Eawhiti was 'finely-hand-led and proved her superiority*under., trying - conditions. The Killara was handieapped in the final stages by the mainsail splitting. The ,Eawhiti won by 2min.2ssec, Rip beating Kilfara"by (Jmin 18sec.
