The Federal Statistician reports that ; the cost of living 'las not increased, during 1913. There , was a„ general upward tendency in 1912, but during the last year this ceased. The prices for groceries and. food-generally.-are nearly 3 per cent, lower, "but rents?,have. ad-> vaneed another 5 per cent., the average J cost of living, therefore, ■- being about thexsame for two years.
