Harold Silvester, about three yi ars oi age. son of Mr Alfred Silvester. Invercargiil I, was drowned nt Wnirikiki on the 29th August in Buchanan's flaxmill race The matter was reported to the po.iro ut Mataura. who informed Inspector Mitchell and Coroner McCarthy. The latter decided that an inquest was unnecessary. CoiiHtablp Keenoy conveyed this decision to the parents to enable them to remove tbe body to Invercargiil for interment. It was resolved that all documents referring to concessions given to Ibe Southland Freezing Company and the Paper Mills Company be laid on tbe table at next meeting.
