WREY'S BUSH.
A meeting of the settlers in this district was held at the hotel last Friday ; for the purpose of forming a branch of the Farmers' Union, but owing to bad weather and bad roads only a few turned up. Mr McKinnon. Avondale was voted to the chair, and in a brief speech introduced tho organising secretary. who addressed the meeting at some length on the aims of the Union. It was unanimously decided to form a branch of the Union, and all present formed themselves into a committee to canvas thu district for members. Mr J. Newton. Mr T. Rower. Mr J. Colquhoun,, Mr Flynn, and Mr W. Newton took part in the proceedings, mid al! were agreed that the U.'iion was doing good work and ought to be supported by every land user in the colony. The next meeting will be bold on September 22nd.
