A large section or the caucus ia strongly pressing Mr. Hughes to resign and let another Ministry be formed from the National party, or, alternatively, to have Mr. Tudor sent for. ... Later : The caucus ref used to authorise the Government to resign, and throws on the Cabinet the full responsibility for honoring Mr. Hughes' Bendigo pledge. (Received January 5, 9.35 a.m.') MELBOURNE, Jan. 5. A meeting oi the National party decided not to support any action that would hand over the Government to the Labor party. A motion that Mr. Chapman be entrusted, with the formation of a Cabinet was overwhelmingly defeated. Cabinet meets to-day. It is doubtful whether action will bo taken until next week. _^
