FAKIRS TO BE ROUNDED UP IN UNITED STATES.
MASQUERADING AS BRITISH OFFICERS. NEW YORK, Nov. 24. A concerted country-wide effort to round up "fake British officers," who, it is stated, liave imposed on the American public m many ways, is to be made by •the British officers now m New York, it was announced to-day. An investigation has disclosed, it was said, that at least fifty men posing as British officers are now operating throughout the country. A recommendation has been made tc Washington whereby' all' subjects of Great Britain, reported as undesirable by British officers, will . be .deported; Tlie British officers here are indignant over impositions practiced upon Ameri- : cans by alleged representatives of the army.
