NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA.
THE PREMIERS' CONFERENCE.
(Received March 17, 10.55 a.m.) MELBOURNE, March 17. It is stated that when Mr Fisher was m New Zealand he approached Mr Massey regarding the Premiers' Conference. Mr Massey fell m with the idea and suggested that such conferences be held periodically m New Zealand and the Commonwealth. Sir A. Peacock, approving of the proposal, says the conferences are rendered the more important m view of the war and the necessity for united action m defence and other matters. A conference will be held m Sydney early m May.
