GISBORNE-NAPIER FERRY.
TAKAPUNA TO RESUME NEXT
WEEK.
Mr Preston informed a Herald representative to-day that owing to the slip being engaged it was unlikely that the Takapuna would be able to leave Wellington before Saturday for Napier. In this case she would, leave Napier for Gisborne on Sunday night, m order to reach here on Monday morning, thus geing able to take up her running from Gisborao on Monday night. She has now been advertised to sail hence on her first trip at 8 p.m. next Monday, and will thereafter leave here on Wednesdays and Fridays the same as last season.
This information will be exceedingly gratifying to the public, who for a considerable period, owing to the strike, have been subjected to much inconvenience and discomfort m travel. It is hoped that the Takapuna will be solidly supported this year" by both t»Napier ana Gisborne people and thereby justify her running. It is just* possible that she may be able to l e » ve Napier on {Saturday night, m which case slie would reach Gisborne on, Sunday morning, instead of Monday.
