TOWN EDITION.
ttLKCTMCAL K\<; INKER. Wo must lirartily endorso tho sentiments expressed by a correspondent m this issue, regarding tho position of Borough Electrical Engineer. Tho good work that has boon ilono by Mr Bus-' well since- his arrival m Gisborne m re establishing a very disorganised department, and m popularising and bringing to a remunerative point tho electrical service of the municipality must be well-known to many besides the actual users of electricity. In tha fare of keen competition, he. has built up the-' business splendidly, and proved himself a! thoroughly enthusiastic and highly capable electrical superintendent. Whilst the 1 Council may *>c effecting necessary economy m combining the positions of electrical engineer and power house superintendent, there can be no reason whatever why for the dual office, it should pass over Mr Buswell, Avho holds full qualifications as a. mechanical as well as an electrical engineer. Speak- 1 ing for tho consumers, as well as for a; large section of the public, we can say \ that they have the very fullest conn- ' dence m Mr Buswell. and would regai'd any change m the control of the splendidly managed Electrical Department with considerable regret and misgiving.
