PATHE PICTURES.

♦ ; Anyone who wishes to take an excursion into the delectable land of makebelieve and fancy could not possibly do better than drop into His Majesty's Theatre to-night, and see the last appearance of the very attractive programme which Pathe Pictures are showing. This judiciously-blended series has taken firm hold of public favor. There was a packed house on Saturday ni<^ht. while last evening the theatre was again well filled with a well-pleased crowd of patrons. The powerful Vitagraph story, "The Still Voice," with its tale of unrelenting vengeance and pretty romances, made a deep , impression, and expressions of appreciation were to be heard on all sides at the close of the film. It is a beautifuK production, which teaches a lesson one is all the better for reading. The delightful fairy story. '.'The Hen with the, Golden Egg s >',. was greatly admired. This film is perfectly bewildering. Fairies appear from any old place, while magic castles arise out of the very ground. "In a Garden,", a little tale of loveliness and grief, uy the Edison .players, was a most artistic conception, which taught the danger and evil of giving way to the green-eyed monster. Much humor of a wholesome and dainty orier was provided by the Vitagraph players m "Two Souls with but a Single Thought," which shows how two men who have run to embonpointment enter into fierce rivalry for the hand of a fair maid. The latter extracts a world of humor from the situation, and then calmly walks off with a third man. "The Gaumont Graphic" is looked eagerly forward to each week, and the latest number is full of good things. Among many items of interest it shows many graphic views of the recent fierce fighting m the Balkans, the City' of London police sports at the Crystal Palace, the annual beauty show at Folkestone, the funeral of the late Colonel Cody, the famous aviator, and tfie wreck of the machine m which he made his fatal flight. "Russian Naval Manoeuvres" shows the remarkable improvement' which has been effected m the Russian navy since Japan taught them they were *as woefully behind m naval matters. A fine view of submarines' at work and torpedo practice is given. "Fishes m a Saltwater Aquarium" proved of ihterest to everyone, and was not only instructive, but amusing. This highly entertaining series will bo- shown for the last time tonight, and will be succeeded by another list of stai-tling attractions to-morrow evening, when the famous two- reel Xordisk drama, "The Last of the Old Mill," will be the star attraction.
