Fat lambs: There was an entry of O'J75 fat lambs, as against 7048 last week. There was keen competition for export, and prices for prime lambs were firmer, sales being made up to 6d per 1b ' for medium weights and up to 5Jd for tegs. The range of prices was: Tegs 19s to 235, ordinary freezers 16s to 18s 6d, and light and unfinished (some of which were taken by graziers) 13s to 15s 6d. Fat sheep: THere was again a very large yarding of fat sheep. Prices were firmer throughout for prime wethers. -and. eyres. The range of prices was: Prime wethers 20s to 25s Cd, lighter 15s 7d to 19s 6d. merino wethers 20s, prime ewes 17s to 23s Gd, medium 14s Od to 16s 6d, aged and light Its to 14s, merino ewes 9s to 11s. Fat cattle: These were represented by an entry totalling 254 head. At the opening of; the sale there wore- indications of slackness m the competition, out ere many pens had been submitted the previous week's level was attained and the market continued unchanged till the close of the -vale, beef making '/is to 2'Js per loolh, according to quality; steers realised £G to .£ll. extra to £15 12s Gd, heifers £7 to £8 15s, and cows £6 5s to £1Q 2s Gd.. Store cattle- only a small number of store, cattle .were yarded. Dairy cows matin £4 10s to £11 15s /.d. Pii':>: There was a larce entry of fat pigs. Choppers realised £2 10s to £4. and heavy baconers £3 10s to £3 15s (equal to 4ii to 4jd per ID), li'ghier sorts making £2 7s Gd to £2 15s (equivalent to od to f>Jd per lb); heavy porkers brought 40s to 445, and lighter sorts 32s to 37s (this price being equal to 5Jd to bid per lb). There was a good entry of stores, and Hir demand for the small sorts showed a market improvement compared with the previous week: heavier pig?, on the other hand, , wore unchanged. Large stores made 3G.s to 42.?, medium 25s to 355. and .-'nail igs to 245; weancrs brought 12s mr small sorts, and to lGs for pood pigs.
