(Special to Herald.) ' WAIROA, this day. Great interest was taken m the Mayoral and Council elections yesterday. A very heavy poll was recorded, the results of the voting being : R. McPhail 422, T. BrWn 362, J. Mayo 359, F. Taylor 345/ A. H. Davis 323, G. A.' Brbad 313, F. J. Foot 281, A. W. Hague 256. The unsuccessful ones were : T. W. Snow 236, A. R. Gardiner 186. . All the retiring Councillors who stood were returned. " - . '
