WEATHER REPORT.

Heavy rain fell during the night af Napier. There were showers m the night at Bluff. Sain was falling this morning

at Cape Palliser and Cape Campbell, and passing showers at Gisbovne and Timaru; a drizzle at Wellington. STATE OF THE SEA. There was considerable sea at Kaipara, and Cape Campbell, rough at Cape Palliser, moderate at Hokianga, Tiritiri, Tanranga, Napier, New Plymouth, Farewell Spit, Westport, Timavu and Oamaru; smooth elsewhere. WEATHER FORECAST. The report issued last night states:— "Present indications are for southerly winds, strong to gale generally; very cold and saually weather with heavy showers m most parts of the Dominion. The barometer will probably rise fast everywhere soon, and very high pressure may be expected to follow." To-day's forecast states: "Southerly strong to gale prevailing. Heavy rain is to be expected, with" fivers' rising shortly. Snow on high country. The night will probably be very cold. Glass rising fast soon. Expect high barometric pressure. Sea considerable off shore; tides good."
