TRIBUTE TO MR LEOYD GEORGE. INCREASE OF. ARMAMENTS . LAMENTED. (Press Assn.— By Telegraph— Copyright.) (Received May 1, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, April 30. The House of Commons adopted the tea duty, income tax, and super tax I resolutions. Mr Masterman paid a tribute to Mr Lloyd George for triumphantly financing the world's greatest scheme for social amelioration. Mr Lloyd George, m a brief speech, lamented the increase of armaments, which, if each country blamed the other, would continue to grow until civilisation was strangled. He added m reply to Mr Chamberlain that the Budget of 1909 taxed not necessaries, but surplus wealth. The country's prosperity instead of having been retarded had been augmented.
