CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER.

The Coroner, , .briefly addressed the . jury, and stated that the evidence, ab- . solutely reduced the case to one of manf slaughter. The medical evidence was i of tne highest importance. The doctor . had ascribed the death to syncope, fol- . lowing on blows on the head and imf mersion. The evidence showed that [ those blows were struck by Brown. The i jury had no option but to bring m a * verdict of manslaughter. . ' The jury returned a verdict that f death was due to syncope following on . blows on the head struck ' by Harold i Gladstone Brown, and that" Brown . thereby feloniously caused the death of , Manuel Santos.
