THE NEW ZEALAND FIRE INSURANCE COMPANY. AUCKLAND, May 10. The New Zealand Insurance Company is advised that the company's records in San Francisco were found in good condition. The latest estimate of the company's loss is £400,000, reduced by £80,000 reinsurances. Tho question of policy conditions is still to be considered. Mr Rhodes, a director of the company, is on his way to San Francisco, where he will meet tho company's Pacific manager, and go fully into matters. THE QUESTION OF INSURANCE. AUCKLAND, May 8. The New Zealand Insurance Company has received a telegram from London confirming the announcement already made that the British fire offices have mutually agreed to stand firmly upon their policy conditions, and not to pa.v any losses outside such conditions. The company has already telegraphed instructions to its San Francisco manager to that effect. The Atlas Company has been in existence since the reign of George IV. The subscribed capital is £2,200,000, the income is £1,200,000 per annum, and the accumulated funds total £2,800.000. The total security for policy-holders 16 £5,000,000. The Liverpool and London and Globe Company was established in 1836, and carries on both fire and life assurance. The total assets exceed £11.000,000. From the sixtieth annual report of Ihe Royal Insurance Company, it appears the total income was £*,162,578, of which £2,998,666 -wae from fire insurance premiums. The funds total £13,062.125.
