Notes from Roxburgh. (From Our Own Correspondent )
ROXBURGH, Novembei 23. The Tiver is gradually falling about lirf every day.
The Otago dredge will not, wash up this week as she has been idle for a few days 'vhilo repairing some breakages. All the other Miller's Flat dredges are working. The Endeavour has been working steadily all the week, and another good return ;s expected.
The Coal Creek dredge is j:ist completed. The engineei in charge expects to have a trial lun of the machinery on Saturday. The Gold King dredge has been working steadily since Monday.
December 2. The weather continues very unsettled, a large quantity of rain falling yesterday and thia morning. The river has risen again about 2*ft. The Gold King dredge was stopped throiigh, the teeth of some of the wheels pulling out. Repairs 'have, however, now been completed, and she has started dredging again. The Ettrick dredge will not be finished for a fortnight, as the contractor is waiting for some material which has been delayed.
