THE TROUBLE IN COLOMBIA.
NEW YORK, November 26.
An American warship forbade ft Colombian gunboat to bombard Colon, and lauded marines* to guard the railway.
The Governor of Panama defeated the Liberal* forces at Matachin. He is now marching on Colon.
Fierce fighting is reported from Colombia. The total losses on both sides are said to be 150. A body of American marines has landed at Panama in order to ensure through traffic.
December 2.
The town of Colon has been transferred to the control of the Conservatives.
LONDON, November 29
Reuter's correspondent states that the Colombian Liberal leaders, after conferring with the Conservatives aboard the Ameriqan gunboat, promised to surrender Colon to-day, aud that those elsewhere would follow, after receiving a guarantee that their lives would be spared.
