LADIES' GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP. WELLINGTON, August 29. The second round of the Ladies' Golf Championship was played off to-day. The weatherwas cold, but fine, a light south-east wind was blowing. The final will be played on. Thursday. Scores : —

By an accident in making up the scores in the Ladies' Handicap yesterday, two of the leading competitors were omitted. Miss Hutchison, with a score of 103, handicap 18, takes first prize, net total 85 ; Miss G. Williams, 110, handicap 18, net score 92, being; runner-up. Miss Gibson is therefore third. Both the first-mentioned ladies belong to Wftllington. September 1. In the Bogey match, played in connection with the Ladies' Championship golf meeting, Mrs Cleghorn (Blenheim), scratch, and Miss Begg (Dunedin), handicap 9, tied for first place being each 3 down. Playing off, Mrs Cleghorn (4 down) beat Miss Begg (9 down)» and won. September 3. The Teams Match in connection with the Ladies' Golf Championship meeting was won by Dunedin with a score of 672 points: — Miss Rattray 106, Mrs Ogston 105, Miss Scott 120. Mrs Stilling 112, Mrs. Fergus 110, Mrs A. Todd 119. Manawatu, Wellington, and a nondescript team lied with 699 point? each. Todd 109, Mrs Lees 104-, Miss.Williams 124, Miss G. Williams 114, Mrs Turnbull 127, Miss Hutchison 121; Nondescripts : Miss Hill 116, Miss Cowlishaw 119, Miss Burnett 117, Miss Moore 108, Misd Gibson 111, Miss Begg 128. The Driving Competition was won by Miss Moore (Wanganui) witl) ] 02yds, 110 yds, and 112 yds; total, 32*. ! Mrs Abraham. 103, 119, and 62; total 284, was second ; and Miss Williams, 105, 105, and one out of bounds; total, 210, third. Miss Rattray, the champion, drove 132, 103, 120, but. the last was out of bounds. Miss Wilson (Manawatu) drove one ball 144 yards out of" hounds.
