MR GLADSTONE ROBINSON'S SALE AT WAIKOIKOI.

j- Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. reixirt 1 as follows :—

Between 300 and 400 settlers from all the districts between Waiweva and Mataura were present at Mr Robinson's clearing-out sale, which we held at the homestead on Thursday, 19th inst. The largeness of the gathering was in measure due to the known excellence of Mr Robinson's live stock and farming and other plant, and partly to the fact that most of the farmers / had finished their harvest, and, of course, the knowledge that; the sale was an unreserved one was not without good effect also. The sale was commenced with the dnught horses, and for these, although moss of them were aged, there was great competition, the prices obtained ranged fiom £!4 to £37 10s. • Buyers bad come from a considerable distance to purchase Mr Robinson's well-known dog cart, made by Fuller, of Bath, JSnglaad, and this brought no less than £36. There was also very excited bidding "for, the Enslish'made brassmounted hp.rnesH, the double set making £15 and the single set £8 10a. For the farming implements, which were j,n jroord order and ef the lies'; mak-je, there was keen competition, and many of thr ui realised close xipon first cost. The ?ale was well arranged, so that there was no delay io offering the different lots, and the result, as has already been indicated above, was most satisfactory.
